Printing items with TPU is very hard

Hi,

I’m trying to print a gear out of TPU but i got a lot of artifact between the cogs of the gear. I dailed the speed down to 20 mm/s and the volumetric speed to 2 mm3/s but then my print take for ages.

I printed the same object on a voron 2.4 it took me 1.5 hours to print the object in crispy condition, but on the x1 it takes 3.5 hour now and the quality is still not good enough.

Does someone has some tips and tricks for printing this correctly on the x1

Thanks in advanced

Calibrate flow, preassure advance and temp for your TPU.

I have no trouble with very old, but dry, TPU from Extrudr. Flow is 3.2mm3 @ 240°C

with that setting I got the artifects between the cogs

Hello,

  • Can you post a photo of your bad gear ?

  • Blobs or stringing’s in the cogs ?

  • What is the TPU shore hardness ?

  • What slicer are your using ?

  • What is all your extruder settings?

  • What is your layer height and line width settings ?

  • Wall generator type ?

  • Travel speed ?

  • Acceleration settings ?

  • Do you have a link for the file ?

If you can do screen shots of your settings that will help.
