In my AMS I have various filament types that I use for printing Should I just use the default settings for PLA basic when also printing other types like Matte, Sparkle and/or Silk, or should I use of the other PLA settings? Any advice would be helpful.
It would be advisable to use the appropriate setting.
For example, if you use filament from Sunlu PLA matte, then use the profile from generic PLA matte.
The same for PLA Silk.
Personally, I like to use filament from eSun.
On eSun’s website you can even download the profiles for ALL types of filament you need (ABS, PLA, PETG and many others) for free !!

Sorry if I might be not understanding correctly. I thought I could not alter the extruder settings once I started printing a multicolor print that has a mix of PLA types. So I was asking which default I should use or if the PLA the differences are insignificant to worry about this.
In my case it had no meaning
I went for cheap noname PLA
filaments took the profile of eSun PLA+ and never had any problems
PLA remains PLA… the printing temperature remains almost the same
You should just be careful not to mix a PLA(+) profile with PLA Silk filament
Gotcha that is good to hear, I was not aware of the PLA+ and Silk.
Once you have the profiles downloaded, how do you add them to the filament selection dropdown? I’m using Orca Slicer.
Blockzitat Once you have the profiles downloaded, how do you add them to the filament selection dropdown? I’m using Orca Slicer.
Since the Orca has pretty much the same structure as Bambu Studio, you shouldn’t have any problems with it
download your files to a separate folder.
Then follow the path as in my screenshot
Even though it is in German, I think you will still have no problem following the steps. Then you have to select the folder in which you saved the files
I hope I could help you with it
@stevekoenen78 That did help, thank you!
