Problem starting Studio.... the Wizard is hiding below the

I put a different "Windows 10 " computer in my shop. I downloaded Studio and installed it. (NO Problems so far)
When I started Studio the setup Wizard started … and there’s the problem! The window that at opens the wizard does not show the button to start or continue. I have tried the following to fix this …nothing worked.

  1. changed the res of the display
  2. changed the font size.
  3. changes the display size from 100% to 125%
  4. restarted both the computer and software many times during all of the above tries.
  5. uninstalled the the software including my data, also deleted the download file. When I downloaded the software again and installed it, I got the same problem.

During each try I had to use the Task Manager to close Bambu Studio since the software was locked waiting for me to click a button I could not reach or see…

I have a screen shot but do not see how to attach it here.

Thanks in advance for your help

Can you tab through the buttons in the window?

Try selecting the window on the taskbar so it is the active one, then click Shift + Windows + Arrow up key

No Sure I will try thanks will update this post in less than 30 mins

I will try and report back in less than 30 mins… have to drive to the shop…
Thanks

What I can tell you is I am able to move the wizard window around with the mouse but Shiift+Win+up does nothing.

Any other thoughts… Thanks

I do not think so, I can move the wizard window around with the mouse but thats all.

Do you have any other thoughts…
Thanks for your help…

That image is helpful. It’s been awhile since I last installed Bambu Studio so forgive me if my memory is faulty but if I recall, it looks like the image is clipped and what you can’t see is a dialogue box that is below the text. You can almost see the beginning of the letters underneath the letter ‘I’ in “will”, under the letter 'b" in “be” and under the letter ‘p’ in “setup”.

I’ve only seen this happen on computers with defective or outdated display drivers but it is a common occurrence especially if the software company using installation software from 2008 which it appears Bambu labs is. Modern software development tools don’t have this problem.

Out of curiosity, are you using a graphics card or just pulling video straight out of the video port on the motherboard? Not that it matters just curious.

Either way, the remedy is the same. Try this.

Right-click on your desktop and go to display settings. Although these screengrabs are from Windows 10. I’m too lazy to open my Windows 11 laptop top do a screengrab from there. :rofl:But the same settings are also there in Windows 11.

Navigate to the scale and layout and make sure your settings are set to 100%.

You may have to log off or reboot your machine for the new settings to be in affect for all programs despite the fact that you’ll see an immediate difference in your font size.

Once you do that, restart the install and see if the image scaling took affect and if you have a dialogue box.

First Thanks for the help…
As you can see the scale was at 100%. I had tried different setting both here and the resolution the first day this happen.
But I restarted the computer and software again; however, still can not see the bottom of the pain.

I can not even put in a ticket to ask for help because I need to add logs to the request and of course I can not get that far.
I am in the shop now so I am willing to try whatever you guy can think of, This ones got me …

I still think it’s a display resolution problem. Have you tried running it at other resolutions such 1024x768(XGA), 1280X1014(SXGA)? This are 4x3 aspect ratios that harken back to the days of WinXP and if the problem is with the outdated Bambu installation tools, it may waken up some default code that it recognizes. Also, have you tried changing the frequency of the video output to something else?

I have tried changing the resolution many times. But I will try again look for a 4:3 aspect … I will get back in a few mins

While I agree the problem is in the resolution nothing I have tried has had much of an effect.
At one point I did gain about half of the next line but still nothing I could click on.
justa note: everything else on the computer is working fine.emphasized text

Try uninstalling the display driver, rebooting and then reinstalling the display driver. Something is messed up in your registry. Who knows what. But removing and reinstalling the display driver should rewrite all those associated values and might fix the problem.

What, exactly, are the specs of the PC and what version of Windows 10 is it running? Is the OS fully up to date? If not, do that first before you mess with the display driver.

Good News… Bad News …
Good News: I got the setup to work. I added a second monitor and so I could have Studio running (well sort of) and my those display setting on the other monitor. I brut forced it by trying every single setting until it just popped up, I had to reduce the font siz to the very smallest. I could see it to read it but I could click on it, LOL

The Bad news: Now I can not log into Bambu Lads. This means I can not reach my printer to send prints, I have to log into a site in China to talk to a printer 3 ft away from me.

There is something wrong with that !!!

Now I have a new Rabbit hole to go down but at least I can print VA a SD card.

Anyone figured this one out. The Wiki says something about Windows Media Player …

I just want to say thanks to everyone who helped me on the quest. Your comments keep on track until the answer happen

Be Safe … Happy Printing …

PS: Turns out to get Studio to find my Printer all I had to do was go to setting on the printer then confirm that it was connected to the right WLAN. Once I did that it showed up in Studio. Maybe I just got lucky. Oh Well no rabbits for me in the morning.

I had this issue, hit [esc] and it will close the Wizard
