Problem with first layer inspection

Same issue, almost all the time on each print with PETG-CF, less often with PA but still a nightmare. I damaged multiple print because of this. The worst was that the hanging filament unglued parts on the bed and multiple collisions happen afterward.
I will try disabling 1st layer inspection which seems to create most of the problems which was one of the reason a bought a X1 to make sure that my prints are always good!

Following up here to note that I’m having the same issues with PETG-CF. I didn’t notice it with PLA during my first test prints but it seems to happen VERY consistently with PETG. I really like the first layer inspection process, but please waste a little more of my filament if necessary to ensure that I don’t waste even more with an ugly second layer dragging squiggly filament around the print. Everything else is working beautifully and I’m glad to finally be free of the i3-framed printers and constant tinkering.

I was having the same issue, but was able to fix part of it.

Initially I was having lots of cases of the standard wiper not cleaning the nozzle. I eventually ended up making a D3vil wipe (brass brush wiper design from Printables) and that totally fixed all wiping issues I had.

Unfortunately, I still can’t really use first layer inspection. When I turn it on, it will slowly ooze filament until a small blob is formed that rubs against the first layer and will often eventually deposit itself on the first layer. So the layer will pass inspection, but it will have deposited that blob on it.

If the printer would wait a bit longer for the nozzle to cool down I think the issue would go away. It seems to just start the scan when they nozzle is too hot.

I’m having the same issue as well now with Bambu PC (properly dried in dehydrator and printing from dry box with desiccant).

I also think it happens when it pauses for other reasons, like spaghetti detection. One time the bit left on the plate after the first layer inspection was eventually detected as a potential spaghetti failure so it paused. I removed it and then resumed the print and another bit of filament was dragged onto the print again.

Has Bambu actually recognized that this is an issue?

I started getting this error with PLA about a month ago.

I’m having this issue with PLA. It’s forcing me to pause the print and pull it off with tweezers before resuming. It’s super frustrating.

Turning off first layer inspection stops the PETG print blob after the first layer for me. I don’t get the issue with PLA.

Over 1 and a half year later:
The problem still exists → Turned off the advertised feature to get clean prints.
@BambuLab When the a printcheck ruins the print, its not a feature .

The issue I am having is where it parks the nozzle during the inspection, right over the nozzle wiper. If it parked in the normal purge position, AND THEN, ran over the nozzle wiper this problem might go away. I am using one of the variations of the A1 nozzle wipers and it purges INTO the wiper.

This bug is still not fixed in 2025… Simply park the toolhead at normal purging area and add a brief cleaning would save people so much headache, why promote a feature that we have to turn off to get normal prints done???
