Problems with removing a screw

Hola,
I have problems with the cutter filament screw. It’s been threaded and I’m not able to remove it.
Do you know how to do it?

I think there is no need to remove it. Just loosen it until the lever can completely swing around.

Thanks Alex for your response, but the problem is that the screw can be loosen. It’s locked and I’m not able to remove the cutter

It depends what tools you have, your skill set, and why you cannot remove the screw. if it is the case that the screw is too tight, and the hex socket is rounded, then you may be ably to use a dremel or equivalent, and diamond cutting blade and cut a slot in the head. You could drill out the head, slide the lever off, then there would be enough of the screw sticking out to be able to grip it with pliers/whatever. If you have a spare lever, and screw, then you could dismantle/break the lever, so you expose enough of the screw so that you can get some grips on it. If the hex socket and wrench are well fitting, then possibly, with care, heat the screw with a soldering iron, enough to warm the threads. If this is beyond you, then order a new unit. These machines are not built for maintenance, bbl have stated on many occasions that they want to be like apple.

Might be obvious but did you press the cutter in when undoing the screw? Didn’t first time I did mine and had trouble undoing it. Sometime you can use a torx bit of the same size to get a better grip in the head if they are slightly rounded. Or as debone mentioned it might be time for the dermal.

Thanks a lot. The screw is really rounded and I’m afraid I’ll have to buy a new unit.

I’ll try it when I face the bbl. Now I’m out for a weeks.
Thanks for your suggestion.

It’s a bugger of a screw, the Allen key supplied is not real good either. I’ve had some luck with a good quality hex, going back together I didn’t nip it up tight. Wera makes a good set if you’re up for a purchase.

Yep plus one on Wera tools they are excellent, I have their ball end hex set best purchase I made.
