Problems with the first layer and ticking on the hotend

I’ve had the problem for about 3 days that the first layer is no longer printed properly and the hotend always ticks when printing the first layer as if it tries to push more filemant through, but that doesn’t work because of a traffic jam. I have always used the default setting of the Bambu studio and have not changed anything here.

What I have tried is the following.

  1. Nozzle changed
  2. Reset the printer to factory settings
  3. Filament flow set by auto-calibration
  4. Setting the flow for the firstlayer modified

Unfortunately, all without success

Is it causing “ripples” on the first layer?

Can’t say for sure if the clicking is related (but maybe if the hot end is moving), but have you checked the hot end screws are tight?

I had the bad first layer issue, it was this on my A1. Tightened up and it was printing great again.

Hello… Unfortunately, this is not the solution. I have checked these screws and all these screws are tight.
I did the basic setting again and again no success.

The first layer is extremely thin, due to the flow and yet it gives the impression that it is trying to push too much filament through and therefore it snaps over.

I had the same issue and the 3 screws behind the nozzle were about one or two turns loose. Tightened them and allbws good. BTW what clued me in was I couldn’t get the noodle back on once I took it off. The clip was just a mm or two from connecting.

For me, all screws are tight and the nozzle has no air and does not wobble a millimeter

Is it the extruder gear slipping ?
wet / greasy / soft / incorrect filament type , can all be a cause

I’m getting exactly what OP is describing, gear has a very firm grip on the filament I’ve confirmed. I’ve been seeing this problem so much lately I’m starting to worry it’s a problem with the latest firmware, which would be very disappointing. I’m getting bed scraping and extruder clicking with very thin first layer because there’s simply no space between the nozzle and the bed, so the backpressure is stalling out the stepper

I think there might be a way to revert firmware updates, but I can’t remember how. I’ll post back here if I find anything, but I’m starting to wonder if that’d help.

The filament is the same as before. I have change nothing. What I wonder is that the problem comes slowly. The gear looks good and the pressure of the filament to the gear looks good

I think this could be the solution of the issue. It is exactly the same description. The gear is top and without problems. I think the nozzle is to deep and the filament can’t press out and the filament will stuck then.

Make sure your nozzle’s latched on correctly.

I have all this checken more then one. All Looks Fine.

I had the same issue, replacing hotend heating assembly on my A1 solved this.

This also just started for me a few days ago. Did you find a solution? I did basically the same things you have. New hot end/cleaned extruder gear/factory reset. All still terrible. I did not update any firmware.

So I think I will open an issue by bambu to clearify this…

I don´t know if this is an option. I have check this and found nothing on it that could made the issue.

You can do it with the Handy app.

Hello everyone…I have found the problem and have solved it… Its to simple…The link from Bambo Wiki below is the right way to solut the problem… I haven´t look to the right screw… At first I had check the screw on the top side and not on the back side… The backside screws was the problem… This screws are not thight. I thight them now and the print are so as before… all looks good
