PTFE Tube for filament buffer not coming out

Hey guys, as stated above I have no problems with the filament buffer it works perfectly but when I try to remove the ptfe tubes its almost as if it is stuck. I am pushing the black release ring in. Anybody ran into this, or have any soultions?

Try pushing it in, before pulling out. The little metal prongs dig into the ptfe a bit. Pushing first, while pressing the black release and then pull. Sometimes, I have to push the ptfe tube back and forth a few times before it releases.

To be clear, im not talking about only sliding the spring back and forth. Need to push the ptfe tube in with a little force, beyong the travel of the spring, to get the prongs to release.

This pic is very exaggerated and low quality, but it shows why the prongs get stuck. Green is the ptfe tube and red is the metal prongs. Even though you are pushing the release button, the prongs are stuck in place.

Just pulling on it, is causing the prongs to dig in deeper. If you pull too hard, youll bend the prongs and they wont hold the next piece of ptfe you insert.

When releasing from the buffer, I push the buffer to the right while pressing the release, simultaneously moving the PTFE tube slightly in and out of the coupler. As already mentioned, the teeth of the coupler can bite into the tube and hold it very tightly, and trying to force it out from that position is a battle you will lose.

Yes, this is the way, i was struggling with it as well but after I learnt how it should be done it becomes very easy.

You could try using one of those PTFE tools to easier press down on the black pieces. A tool like this handy dandy Skeleton key made by yours truly… wink wink, nudge nudge…. It also acts as a perfect tube slicer by inserting the tub in the mouth!

I will give it try, good self promotion lol
