Someone have probably already pitched this idea, but I feel like a public API might be good idea for expansion.
Maybe to prevent bot from becoming a bigger problem, rate limiting could be introduced, or even making THAT things posted by the API won’t gain any points…
I would like to be able to search for an find models based on the color of filaments that I have an API may enable that kind of search.
lol … you can just change the color and print the model whatever color you like… colors dont matter for the model as the settings wont be affected its only temperature and minor changes in the filament so you can choose whatever material you like basicly
I know I can change the model colour, but if I have Red filament it would be good to find all the models that could use that colour - ie. fire hydrant, stop sign, etc. So I can use it up.
No news about this? It isn’t that much asking to get stats (public or personal)…
As a developer, this would definitely be super useful, for example to create a section on my website to show my currently pinned models.
I want an API so I can create collections and then get a printout of how much filament and types needed to print the entire collection.
As a maker I can see multiple things can be useful with.
Please Bambu Lab, make this a reality
I just want to voice a potential use case for this. Right now, managing things (in bulk) that I want to print, or hang onto, or applying my own “tagging” or “category” system is a bit tedious. If I had an API to work with, I could write my own interface to make it easier to organize my favorites/likes/categories.
Just my opinion: I don’t think we’ll see that happen. Especially when you consider when the topic was opened. This requires absolute programming specialists. It is time-consuming and expensive. An API is a significant cost factor.
If we consider that it took a long time before Bamboo Printers had a proper API, and that still has a lot of potential for improvement, then… yeah. I don’t think that will happen.
The problem is that it’s either done properly or there’s a huge security gap. There is almost nothing in between.
I’d just like a basic API to be able to monitor my stats, and makerworld points. yeah, i know there are browser plugins that do it, but I’d like to do it independent of a web browser, programatically.
How about api token in your user account. Then it is possible to set read/write on different levels

It’s the same as always. In order to officially gain access to the API documentation, companies must apply to Bambu. Regular users are not granted access.
Fortunately, though, there’s plenty of documentation available online.
Otherwise, the API hasn’t evolved much - it’s actually become increasingly closed off.
In a nutshell: Nothing new.
The only area making a little progress is reverse engineering, but by the time anything useful comes out of it, the affected printers will probably be obsolete anyway. Nevertheless, this may be useful for future projects.
Adding a concrete use case to this one, because I think it shows how small a first step could be.
I make Monitor-Buddy (see my profile page on Makerworld), an open-source ESP32 display that clips onto a monitor. It already has a GitHub page showing followers and repos, read from GitHub’s public API. A user who printed one asked for the same page for MakerWorld: followers, boosts, likes, downloads and prints. Fair request, given the model lives here.
I can’t build it. The numbers only exist inside the rendered profile page, Cloudflare blocks a device fetching it, and the Terms of Use rule out robots and scraping. I’m not going to work around either, so the feature waits on Bambu.
What would cover it, and most of the stats requests in this thread:
No write access, no model files, nothing private. I’ve filed a support ticket asking for exactly this and will post here if I get an answer.
@Bambu staff: even a “no, and here’s why” would help. Several of us are holding features for it.
