Wonder how far the US Tariffs on Chinese goods would go before Bambu Labs refer it in their products. Itâs 125% of US Tariffs on Chinese goods now.
What is the next level above 124/125% (I read both values in the media)?
I thought Trump like to invite all holders of US bonds to exchange them for 0%/100 year bonds - in short words - that all the money is gone. But why should some country do this. Except that US would invade/start war with them. I think Trump will not win on any front. Except being best friend with dictatorhips like Russia and North Korea.
The sheer volume and variety of the China-made merchandise sold in the U.S. means the prices of many typically inexpensive items probably will tick way higher if the tit-for-tat tariffs persist.
In addition to imposing a new tariff on Chinese imports, âs new executive order also suspended the customs exemption that allowed goods worth less than $800 to come into the U.S. duty-free. The order left open the possibility for a possible loophole to still be used with shipments from other countries not yet included on âs Freedom Day ListâŚ
But this tarifs will compensate the 0% income tax that will come sooner or later.
And sooner or later everything will be produced in USA or Russia(lol).

Real tariffs can be fractions so thereâs basically infinite levels above there.
But he has floated and may have implemented 200% tariffs on French wines, or it may be due to be implemented, or who knows. But he floated it. Thatâs the highest Iâve seen mentioned so far.
But I think Xi is able to dance with him on this one and I doubt will be bullied. We may even see borders close to products. Very hard to predict what will happen â easier to say what could happen.

Legitimate question here. When during the shipping process is the tariff applied? What I am really wanting to know, is if the tariff on the H2D I ordered yesterday and paid for ($200 increase) has already had the tariff applied and is not subjected to the craziness of the last day. Basically I want to know that Bambu wonât just say, âyeah, you have to pay more for this nowâŚâ
I think there was a small window of pre-orders and right now pre-ordering is not possible? I suppose Bambu will gobble up the difference for these printers but if the tariffs are 500% (in other words, trade has come to a stand still) by the time your printer should be shipped I wouldnât be surprised if Bambu decides to reimburse everybody because they are not in the business of handing out free printers. Who knows at this pointâŚ
If it ships from inside the US there wonât be a tariff charged to you. Itâs only if a package crosses the border. Then customs can assess the tax.
That doesnât mean buying the printer in the US wonât include a tariff but it will already have a tariff involved. Itâs why Bambu raised prices.
You just need to be careful that an order isnât shipping to you from China. There you get the bill and things get complicated if you think you might not want to pay.
But for the adventurous, de minimis is in effect until early May. If your order is less than $800 and hits customs before that times out, you pay no tariff as I understand it.
