I’d love the option to “Purchase” a boost with Maker Reward points. There would obviously need to be some rules (e.g. max purchases in a week or something) to prevent bulk point transfers between spam accounts. (Or just stop the spam accounts ) I think something like 15 points to purchase a boost would be acceptable, what do you all think?
Don’t give them ideas. All related to income to their side is approved over night
Many months ago they did have some option like that which was unavailable and then removed later. I think they did plan to have that be a thing and then it just didn’t happen. I like the system they have now though, I don’t want to buy boosts in the general people using these printers would definitely not buy them so that would mean way less boosts for the people uploading models.
Not sure what mean by this. Buying would not mean current system has change. Just means more money in system budget.
The ability to purchase boosts with existing points would be exploited by multi account users funnelling points to one central account.
Someone creates an account, gets all the easy new user points, buys a couple boosts and boosts a model on their main account. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Probably why it was scrapped before.
Edit:i didn’t read bit ‘with points’ i thought with $ lol
Makerworld… benefits from selling boosts so loose nothing either.
Say user buys $35 boosts.
Gives boost to a maker as they want support them making more stuff.
Maker uses $35 in store. bambulab still received the $35 payment for them items.
So boost buying would be same as user directly buying in store.
I agree buying with points not good idea.
But with cash should… maybe.
