Purge to Infill/Support does not work

When using wipe-into-infill or wipe-into-support, my x1c does not do this, it will still perform a full purge to the bucket, uses the purge tower, then move to the model. Worse, it will use support material as infill for parts of the print, not as a purge but as one of the last operations before changing filament. So theres no purging into the infill its just replacing some infill with support material.

This is clearly quite broken, is this a quirk of my slicing settings or is this something others have experienced?

I would attach the 3mf but I dont think I can.

That is exactly what this function is for: wasting less material by using the material as infill (where the color is not crucial) instead of purging it in the poop container.

Related to purge tower and purge to bucket: Those are settings in the slicer that you have to modify actively (e.g. purge tower has to be deactivated, purge volume has to be lowered) in order that those are reduced / not performed. If the purge tower is not deactivated it is building it up to the height of the model calculated during slicing.

Related to purge to infill: I didn’t perform too many MM-prints - it is so time-consuming, therefore my knowledge of when he performs with what amount of purge into infill is somehow limited.

My point is that it doesn’t do this. It uses the support material as infill, then goes and changes filament, then purges into the poop container, then goes to the prime tower.

It should get to infill, change filament, not purge, prime on the tower, do the infill where it should transition from support to material filament.

Even if you alter these settings (which you shouldnt need to), its still doing the order of operations incorrectly.

I am noticing the same on my prints too… I was hoping to reduce the plastic waste and speed up the time to change colors… it is definitely something to do with the order of operations

No updates on this? My X1C is doing the same, still. Using 1.7 version of Bambu Studio. It purges, prints and then print supports, which means the purge is still going into the bin.
