Purpose of a couple of steps I see in the Print start up dance?

My p1p is arriving tomorrow and I think I have watched every video on youtube ;-).

I understand the purpose of the initial self check vibrations of the head etc, and can understand the purpose of most of the steps in “print startup dance”, but there are two steps I don’t quite understand the purpose:

  1. After the poopies, it moves to the middle back of the build plate and moves back and forth?
  2. During the bed level, on each row it shakes the print bed up and down.

I will have some friends that also 3d print coming over for a look Preformatted texton the weekend, and I am sure they will ask what it is doing and why, and I would like to give them the correct resons.

Thanks

Hi there,

for 1.) This is done to clean/scrap the nozzle clean before bed leveling
for 2.) I think (not 100% sure, as I didn’t perform bed leveling already for a while) should be there to ensure that there is no misalignment of the bed between the 3 rods.
