I am trying to do a print with PLA and PVA for support interface. I need the print to be high quality, so I am doing 0.08mm layers with 35% ironing flow. The layers of PVA just do not stick very well to the PLA surface it is going on, when the printhead goes up it peels some of the PVA up, leaving an uneven surface. I can literally just peel the supports off without dissolving the PVA in water.
Try slowing the PVA flow rate down to single digits. You also need to dry PVA before use, but I’m assuming you knew that.
Yep I dried for like 20H after receiving it, and stored it in a sealed bag with dessicant. I also dried for an additional 12 hours before the print. All of this was at 70C. I will try the speed suggestion, thank you.
I assume you set the top z-interface distance to 0mm and are using a solid unterface?
Correct, It auto prompted those changes.
You can try to increase the initial layer density in the support settings.
The default is 90%, which means LESS than normal is extruded.
And sometimes even a different interface pattern can make a big difference.
Slow and steady with the PVA…
