I’m making a design that I want to have a rechargeable option and a plug-in option. I have the components from the rechargeable power kit, but I need a different motor. I have that motor as well, but I don’t want people to have to buy a useless motor. @Makers_Supply, can you add different variations of the kit with other motors? I want the N20 Single Shaft Worm Gear Motor (LA008), but other motors would be nice as well. Or just sell the kit without the motor. It is a rechargeable “power kit” and not a “motor kit” LA008 is needed to make the design more compact and have less weird geometry.
I also have my eye on that kit, it is in my next shopping basket.
I would like to have a version of this motor be compatible.
Taking its power from the recharge kit rather than the USB.
I’m about to order a few of these motors and give them a whirl! I’m curious if anyone else has given them a try!
For clarity, which of the few motors mentioned here are you referring to?
Oh the ones you linked to - the TT 5v DC motors: TT Motor DC5V 59RPM CCW Single Axis(1PCS) - LA001
Easy to use, plug into a USB socket and it starts.
It moves slowly, with a lot of torque. You can easily pair it with gears to speed up the rotation.
I think the plastic housing makes it an easy motor for me to play with, I have a few others MW provides, but they are all metal parts and seem a little too much. It might be my disabilities though, so ignore that part for most other people.
I also used it with this gem, the USB speed controller. You plug it inline with the motor and use a dial on the controller to affect the speed of the motor.
I have a related question on the rechargeable kit: I might be missing something but is this the only Makers Supply item that uses a zh1.5 connector?
From what I can tell, this means that it is not compatible with the other motor and led power solutions sold on Makers Supply - only the included motor.
I haven’t been able to find a cable that would allow me to use this rechargeable kit with the power distribution board for example.
Of course I’d be happy to be shown to be wrong about this - I just haven’t been able to figure it out
Huh, that’s interesting. As I mentioned above, I have the rechargeable kit and another motor I want to use with it. As you said, the connectors aren’t actually the same. I initially thought this was because the motor is from an Anycubic “Creative Kit” (knockoff of MW), but that makes sense that it is just a different connector on there. I suppose the workaround is take the wires off the Rechargeable motor and the different motor, and then put the Rechargeable’s wires on the different motor. Perhaps they could also switch the connector type to be more compatible?
In theory you might be able to rip out the cables from it and install the cables from the Rechargeable’s motor. That’s what I’d have to do to get the more optimized layout, I suppose. It’s not very convenient though, having to buy a wasted motor just to tear the cables off. I’ll probably just redesign it to use the included one.
I had suggested this idea to them in another thread a few days ago and this was the reply.
So they’ll be adding a ZH1.5 to SH1.0 cable soon allowing for any of their current N20 motors and some of the LEDs to be used with the kit.
Ok that’s good to know - thank you!
I get this is a me issue, but, my tremors won’t allow me that option.
Unless you wish to watch a video of me using a soldering iron that will inevitably create a Swiss cheese effect on my hands.
It’s not just you though. Most people wouldn’t want to or wouldn’t be able to successfully “transplant” the cables. It shouldn’t be necessary in the first place.
Can i use this rechargeable kit in the Power Distribution Board please ?
Thank you ( 25 caracters)
I could solder it, sure. But could most people on MakerWorld who just want to print something? Probably not, or at least they wouldn’t want to.
Well, it would be nice to have something to remember you by.
Oookey, geez. Just saying that that won’t work for many people.
C’mon guys. Can’t we all just get together and dance?
Yeah, i give up trying to post that gif
