Not so much voltage, but current handling. Smaller connector, less current handling. Bigger connector, more current.
3.7V is the nominal voltage, it should be 4.2v when fully charged, and around 3.0v when considered “flat”. I don’t have this module, but it looks like it could have a step up regulator on it also, which if it does would probably supply a constant 5V output.
