This is my setup: H2D with AMS2 Pro on each nozzle.
I print mostly PETG HF and ran into an issue where mid-print - at the first filament change to the Left Noozle - the printer failed to extrude the filament. The printerstrong text did try several times but ultimately it did gave up and issued an error message.
I paused the print and tried to unload the filament from the AMS assigned to the left nozzle but I wasn’t able to! The Unload process seemed stuck and I wasn’t able to release the “grib” of the filament so I could pull it out manually and replace the spool. I can certainly see that manual filament changes mid-print can cause all kinds of problems but in my case I just wanted to replace the spool with another one - same material, same vendor, same color. (Bambulab PETG HF actually)
Is there a way to recover a print in this scenario?
As for failure to extrude - the only thing “odd” with the particular spool is that the filament diameter is above 1.75 mm (measured up to 1.80mm with my caliber, that measures other spool diameter at 1.75mm.
Is this diameter difference enough to cause the printer to extrude?
Note - that I have tried to extrude other material from the same AMS location to the same nozzle without problem so I’m pretty sure the extruder is fine. Also - I did try the trouble some spool in another AMS location and the first time it actually extruded but subsequently it failed as well.
