I’m having a scaring issues on most of my prints. I’m assuming it is the slicer that is creating the problem since it happens on my P1S and X1C.
I’ve previously used Prusa slicer and haven’t had scaring. Any ideas on how to fix this?

That looks like over extrusion. Have you calibrated your filament?
I have done flow rate calibration both automatically on the smooth plate with the X1C and manually. No difference.
As @JonRaymond mentioned, over-extrusion is the most probable cause.
If you are sure it is well calibrated, confirm:
You mentioned repeatability for the prints and printer. What about filaments?
did you tweak your printing settings?
It’s a bit of a long shot but try turning off “Only one wall on top surfaces”. I’ve heard there currently is possibly a bug with this.
I did have “Only one wall on top surfaces” enabled. I will turn it off and report back.
What does that function do? Seems like more walls would be better for print quality.
Thanks!
Thanks for reporting back!
I was just thinking that an alternative that might work to allow you to keep “Only one wall on top surfaces”, is to add a mod to the top few layers maybe 2 or 3 and make the mod change the walls to only 1. The issue might be the extra walls in the layers below the top layer.
What is the advantage or purpose of the “Only one wall on top” setting? I wasn’t able to find out anything about it on the wiki page.
One wall on top is supposed to make the top layer look nicer because you don’t see several walls at the edge and around holes. But it currently has a side effect of making lines extend beside the corners of text, holes and other structures on the top surface. Bambu is working on a solution, but for now turning it off prevents the issue.
I’m still having problems with scarring on the top layer. I’ve tried “Monotonic”, “Monotonic Line” and disabling “Only one wall on top” and still scarring.
I don’t do this for a hobby but to make a living and I can’t sale the prints off of the Bambu because of the scarring. Prusa Slicer always had/has flawless top layers and I don’t understand why Bambu Studio doesn’t since it’s a fork of Prusa Slicer.
About kick my four X1C’s out the door and rebuild my print farm with Prusa’s.
Prusa printers can also have this problem. You could try this suggestion.
The extrusion multiplier is the flow ratio in Bambu Studio.
I’ve done the flow calibration multiple times using the automatic calibration and the manual calibration. I’m using Bambu filaments so it’s not cheap filament that is the issue.
The person is suggesting to try lower flow rates until you find one that doesn’t have the lines, so probably lower than a proper calibration. A balance between low enough to not have the lines but not too low that you get too much under extrusion.
Print a small thin surface portion of your model or other small flat parts with holes when doing the tests so you don’t use too much filament.
The flow rate seems to be fine. The issue is that the slicer is putting in lines that are larger in width and height than the other lines. And the lines are usually tangental to a cylinder shape. It appears to be a slicer issue not flow rate.
