Well, I tried it and am not that impressed at all.
AI is nice but not all knowing and not all powerful.
No problem creating a relief from a 3D model with the help of a depth map but from a picture…
Yes, it somewhat works and if you never created a real 3D relief for engraving use or such then you won’t notice a problem…
Until you print or engrave it that is or simply when comparing the generation with the real thing.
Some details get lost, where you should see deep it is flat or the other way around.
A good start though but IMHO the tool still needs one or two revisions to be properly usable.
I tried it and absolutely love it! It works amazingly well, even though my photo wasn’t the best quality.
Quick question: how do you print it—lying flat or standing vertically with supports?
Also, a suggestion—please consider adding the ability to include text around the frame! Amaizing tool!!!
I have not printed mine yet, but it comes into the build plate standing up and I think that will probably provide the best quality. For supports the auto generated ones were minimal, but there is also a brim around the bottom, so it may stay on the build plate, but I am not holding my breath as I have an A1.
For adding text, you could just try using the text tool in Bambu Studio.
I’ve printed three of these so far on my H2D with the textured PEI plate. I printed them standing up with a brim and no supports, they all came out great! I use Vision Miner Nano adhesive on all my plates, amazing stuff!
