Remaining Filament Counter

Does anyone know of or come up with a fairly accurate remaining filament counter that could be adapted to the AMS ?

I bought a small scale to weigh the spool to know how much is left. A spool weighs about 210 grams, the refill core weighs about 40 grams (so a refill core on a spool weighs 250 grams when empty). The slice tells you how many grams a print will take.
