I have read the info. about sending a model to my printer via the app and, provided the printer is on and connected to a network, I can send and print the model remotely. My question is, how can I do this same procedure with models I create myself?
I don’t particularly want to upload to makerworld, my models aren’t necessarily useful/ interesting for others - plus they are often prototypes.
I did think about opening the .stl via onedrive from my phone, and printing via the handy app. This doesn’t work, as the HandApp is available as a choice as Open With…
You don’t have to upload anything to makerworld, just import your stl into bambu slicer on your pc and then slice it and send it to the printer. If you are concerned about privacy with your prototypes, you can always use orca slicer and just drop the files on an SD card or use LAN mode from your pc.
This does seem the simplest solution! I leave for work early, too early to start printing, I wanted way of starting the print remotely at a time I wanted. I will upload to makerworld, tag as private then access as and when I want to start printing.
I think this is actually the best option. Send the sliced model to the SDcard, then start the print from Handy.
It’s much simpler, avoids storing it in the cloud, and you do not need to fill out all the extra info needed to upload a project to MakerWorld.
I normally only use Handy to monitor prints, not start them. At the time I suggested creating a private MW project I was away from home and was not certain that Handy would print from the SDcard, so I did not mention that possibility.
