Removing spools from AMS-HT

When removing a spool from the original AMS you push back on the first stage feeder inlet which allows you to pull the filament back freely.
There is no such function on the AMS-HT and the only way I have figured out is to withdraw the filament from the feeder against resistance.

Is there a better way of removing the filament?

The release button is placed inside on the back side of the feeder on the AMS-HT

Just got my AMS HT and pressing the release button doesn’t seem to change the resistance when I pull the unloaded filament out. Am I crazy or do I have an issue with my unit?

Assuming that you are pushing the correct release button, i.e. the one on the inside of the HT unit, the filament does not just slide out. There is still resistance but it is easier than trying to pull the filament out without pushing the filament release button.
Hope that makes sense and helps

Yes that’s the one (soft button behind the filament’s intake). I’m just used to less resistance when doing the same thing on the AMS Lite and AMS 2 Pro. Just making sure I’m doing it correctly.

Mine is the same way - it still feels like it is mostly engaged and has a lot of resistance while retracting the filament.

I’ve owned my AMS HT’s for over 2 months and I never even knew the HT’s had a filament release button. I though since it wasn’t on top like the AMS 2 pro that they didn’t have one. I have just been pulling the filament out against the resistance.

I’ve found it takes a bit of practuce and feel! The button is only slightly raised, one you have located it it’s easy!

Except it is the back side of the front side of the AMS HT.
