Replace hotend but not complete hotend - help!

When I bought my P1S i also bought the 0.2mm nozzle, as I knew I wanted to do minis at some point in time.
The nozzle came in a little box and I never unwrapped it, as I was happy initially using the 0.4mm nozzle. But time came, I watched many videos about how to replace the hotend (unscrew, take out cords, put in new one etc), and then I opened my box with the 0.2mm nozzle and this is what I saw:

All the videos I saw had the fan and cords hanging off it! Now going back to the Bambu Lab site, I can now see that you can buy the ‘hotend’ and the ‘complete hotend’. The issue I have now is that all of the videos and even the instructions for the replacement all have the complete hotend.

I can see you can you buy the other materials on the Bambu site but is it easy to take the 0.4mm from the fan and cables and put the 0.2mm on? Any instructions for this?

Just seems like I have wasted my money. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Bambu wiki to the rescue.

The hotends are sold either a bare bones nozzle (which you bought) or a “Complete hotend”

For future reference here is the listing for the complete hot end.

The “hotend” name is applied to different items by different people, Bambu calls the thing that you received, a “hotend”, what you see in the videos is a complete Hotend.

Thanks all. I think I will just try and buy a complete hotend I dont really want to disassemble to that degree. Also try and find someone to buy my hotend who knows how to use it!

it’s not that difficult, they sell the thermistor, fan and temp sensor separately, look at your original 0.4, add some heat paste to the temp sensor hole and surface where the heat pad is, insert sensor and heat pad and use the clip to hold them in place, 3 screws for the fan and it’s complete.

Had the same with my first order but had all three sizes, so immediately ordered 3 extra fans, heaters and temp sensors for quick swap.

The thermal paste between heater, nozzle, and thermistor does dry out after a year or two and will need to be replaced. You may as well learn how now. It’s only a five minute job if you take your time and double check your work against the video.
