Replacing the AMS first stage feeder or AMS feeding funnel

The AMS First Stage Feeder is an important component of the AMS system.

After prolonged use, it might require a replacement. This Wiki article explains the process of replacing the AMS First Stage Feeder in detail.

Please note that in some cases, simply replacing the AMS Feeding Funnel might be a more cost effective solution. This is recommended to be replaced if the AMS has been used with abrasive filament.

Have you encountered any problems when replacing any of the two components of the AMS?

I’ve replaced (2) stage feeders since purchasing my first X1C. Slot #1 & #2 started to shred yellow shavings and I noticed the gearing wasn’t initializing the active rollers to engage feeding.

Honestly, I suggested this awhile ago but why not supply the internal gear assembly as a standalone spare part? Business is good I understand that when it’s $35 for the whole piece. But in my case the gears were the only issue… so it’ll leave waste material when you set aside the complete stage feeders and replace, replace, replace. Just my thoughts.
