Replacing the Camera

I would like to replace the P1P camera with either an M5 Unit Cam / Esp32 Cam or similar, possibly even a Raspberry Pi Cam.

I have searched but unable to find, .stl files that someone may have reverse - engineered the camera housings, specifically the mounting details and general external dimensions, is anybody aware of them

I am modeling up a mount for a pi Cam to fit my P1P.

The problem is that there is not enough clearance to fit the pi cam board in the location that the P1P camera is mounted. The good news is it can fit in the rear right corner because the side bar on the RHS is lower.

I didn’t measure up the P1P camera housing before installing it and it is a bit of pain to remove.

Photos are of the first draft. I’ll release the models once I have it all working.

The plan is to run a stream via my old Raspberry Pi for the moment as the lack of remote monitoring is painful.

I’m thinking about adding an ESP32-CAM into my X1C, to be honest - the included camera is good, but the access to it is not great (timelapse, or attempt to connect and stream into OBS or something via a proxy which has been problematic for me). If I build a frame to lift the lid (and add lighting) then I’m thinking it could fit around the rim of that for overhead viewing.

Not finding much in the way of example STL files made for the printer, but curious to know if others have found anything.

Any progress on this? This is exactly what I’m looking for.

I’m out of the office for a few days but will upload the file and some photos when I get back.

Do you know if there are plans to improve the internal camera? The Android app would be enough for me personally. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. And that even in the Wlan with Fiber 1000 connection.
I need a reliable connection to the camera
