Replacing the Front Door on the P1S safely

I want to upgrade my P1S’s door to open on a wider angle since I have it in a corner and need to access it from the hinge side.
I checked the official replacement guide, but unfortunately the glass doesnt remove ass easily as the video shows.

Apparently because it has some double sided tape.
Im probably just being overly cautious, but id rather ask before breaking it.

How would I be able to remove it without breaking the glass, or destroying the double sided tape when I dont have something like a ‘blower’ or ‘scraper’?

I had to remove the door on one of my X1C’s recently and there wasn’t any tape. Removed the 4 screws and door came off. I’ll check the P1S tonight but I don’t think it’s any different.

Well, lets just say it like this.
When I tried to gently pull of the door after unscrewing it (in a closed position without turning it), I saw the entire printer move.
So it REALLY didnt want to let go of that door.

Which, you know, is great that its secure, but doesnt help in this instance.

Also the official replacement guide mentioned that its ‘newer’ ones, whatver that means exactly. I got mine during the chrismtas sale.

Double sided tape will release easier with heat. A hair dryer would probably work, moving it to evenly heat the glass . Tape can also be cut by slicing down through it with dental floss or a strong thin wire. Either way, you’ll need extra hands to manipulate tools and support the door.

In the end I managed it after roughly half an hour, by using some spare stanley blades I had lying around, with the occasional use of a hair dryer on max setting.
