When I enter the name of my creations on Temu I see loads of different models being sold by loads of different sellers. I know, I know….if I don’t want them stolen, don’t upload them. Any way I have just filled the complaint form for about 20 of them. Let’s see what happens. I’m thinking NOTHING.
UPDATE: 23 different sellers… all models removed by Temu within 12 hours
How would I prove to you that I was the owner of a makerworld account if we were not using bambu forum where you can cross reference the user name?
Corporations usually register their copyrights for this reason, and such services are expensive, but as a hobbyist you can make a design diary, or show source CAD files with a version history, etc.
The link to makerworld is fine and proper, but it’s not the key thing. You need to prove to them that you are a real person (the person you file a complaint against might want to sue you back) and fill out whatever affidavits they are requesting of you, one of them probably says something like “under penalty of perjury I attest…”. The idea isn’t to make the process impossible, it’s just to keep arbitrary people from reporting items they don’t own the rights to.
If you want, once all of that paperwork is done and they give you reference number you could even add that to your makerworld listing to show you control it.
I found it to be straight forward. All sellers reported on one form. (a link to the model page)… I have 43 models uploaded…Just one link to my home page on makerworld seemed to work as well. No need to send a link to each individually
