Do you mind me asking why you post and then edit to remove all the text, we can still read it, under history anyway
found it was not worth spending my time arguing. but if you want to know what i posted i can tell you. basicly reports are not taken seriously these days. I believe that we are trying to help the makerworld community but if our reports are not taken in considerations what the point of us taking the time to post the links and pictures ? I just see it as a waste of time and noboby cares.
Saw your deleted, those are some good earning by copying, minor resizing, minor remixing of popular models. Not just the whistles, but also the rest of his models.

here is the original post… ive reported this model thinking it was exactly the same… its not but it looks pretty close to be the exact same, the thing is I dont think mods or admins care hard to tell… the response is always the same without any further details
Something like a whistle is hard to protect with a copyright. It is not unique enough to have a strong copyright standing. Especially when the shape is basically a copy of standard whistle shapes.
If you made a whistle that had a very unique shape, then you might have a stronger case when somebody copies it.
As some suggested in another post, MW should really consider not allowing render as the model front page. Some of the models by this guy hadn’t been printed by him at all, just renders. Render always looks good, but the real prints might not.
first time i see a whistle made this way for the inside shape tho… also the maker of this model says we can remix or share with attributions. i dont see why some dont put the share remix links
all of his models do look printed to me tho, but yes there are lots of digital images on his profiles but also he does have them printed pretty sure ?
It may not be the referee whistle shape, but it is just one of the standard variations of a whistle, I don’t see anything very unique about it.
like i said… ive never seen an inside whistle shaped like this before. this one is unique to me. the way the tip is made inside witht the rounded shapes, i dont believe there are lots of other models made with same interior as this one personally. also the model is clearly taken from this idea as well so this is why i think attributions should have been made to it and they are not.
Please keep it in English so everyone can keep up with out the need for translating
i translated it on google wasnt that bad but yeah i feel you haha
sometimes translations can be funny
Reports are taken too seriously - I am getting a take down a day - and they are wrong! - or I have misunderstood something.
What I don’t understand is the lack of human interaction of even reading the posted item.
Case in point:
NASA user on sketchfab posts scans of the moons surface
I pick 2 of them
License:CC Attribution-NonCommercial
I design a filleted presentation case and put boxed text on it - split in objects for colour choice.
Nothing too flash but I liked it and I thought it tied in with the Geography theme.
Next morning boom! - another copyright takedown because of this on thingiverse:
A case for NASA scans.
Now - I am not an expert at all - because of the makerworld “incentives” it prompted me to put in tons of hours on learning Fusion 360, Blender, Zbrush etc. and it is great fun learning WITH the added incentive of hopefully being able to get a second AMS with my vouchers - win-win!
I understand the copyright police are at full force on here - and I totally agree that a straight out copy to cheat the system is out of order and people should not gain that way.
But… there has to be room for multiple things - I had a Kratos bust taken down because of a bust on Cults - was it Kratos? Yes. Was it a bust and armless? Yes. But thats where it ended - again i got a free model from sketchfab - gave all correct remix and attribution - spent hours learning knife and bisect on Fusion to change the full model into a bust haha and even managed to fairly poorly cut the arms into the torse (note to self more learning required).
This 3D printing universe cannot consist of singular items and any multiples just swiftly removed - or am I wrong?
thanks if you got to the bottom of this ![]()
It’s more of a common courtesy that we all speak in the same language.
It would be a bit rude of me to swap to my native language and assume you all can join in on it, especially knowing Google Translate will butcher my language, a lot would be lost in translation ![]()
Inspired by, and remix is the backbone of the modern world, so of course there is room and need to be room for it.
My original complaint was more to the slow removal time of firearms that was shooting real bullets. or well the lack of removal for days, and I find that concerning as I have conducted a few tests with other stuff that it was almost removed instantly, like a print profile that did not have a picture of the printed part. this leads me to thing its a choice to not remove the models.
But I see several people here have problems with copy cats or ultra-low effort “remix” and have the original reported and removed, how that is a problem I don’t get, just look at uploaded dates?
Now I don’t know what you uploaded under, but I see a big problem with the CC license that doesn’t contain share alike.
The moon thing is under CC BY-NC
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/
So what if I make a thing with it, and uploaded it as Public domain, some one see it like it, starts selling it from a small etsy shop. they are not in breach of the licens I uploaded under, but they are in breach of the CC BY-NC ?
But the general problem for all of this is most likely the attempts to automate ticket responses
human oversight is the only way to do this right, and to not rush them.
i dont see a issue with “real guns” they are just like any other model the only thing they MIGHT be bannable for is not making them nsfw
You and I had this discussion on a thread where you and others got the post locked!
But it seems I have to tell you again.
My problem is not with the models themselves, but with how anyone like a kid can download it, print it, bring it to school, and do dumb stuff.
also, it’s against MakerWorlds TOS so it’s not even up for what you and I think. it’s not welcome period.
You should go make a website to host any files you want!
Do you legitimately think a 3d printed gun will fire real bullets?
No… Just because you’re scared if things that make loud noises occasionally, doesn’t mean they are illegal to own. There is NO SUCH THING AS A 3D PRINTED GUN. You can print some parts, but you have to buy specific parts to make it work.
Sounds like you need to do some more research mate.
first of all no one said anything about a 110% 3d printed gun.
but the Liberator (gun) - Wikipedia is a thing, and yes it will shoot you and hurt you. no, it’s not a full or even semi-auto AR. but its still a gun and it will still hurt you. and lets be honest here if you wanted a barrel for it that would not be hard to add on.
Ohh and btw I have been practising PRS for several years, so you can take that “scared if things that make loud noises” bull cr@p and bugger off
