I would like to inquire about people’s experiences with reports of profiles or models that go against MakerWorld’s terms of service.
Recently, I reported a profile that was hosting several models for real guns that could be printed. However, the report failed without any explanation.
I have chosen not to disclose the profile’s name as this is not about a specific profile, but rather the lack of timely removal of dangerous models by Bambu Labs. It appears that the profile has been removed now, but only after I submitted a ticket inquiring about hosting models for real guns that can shoot real bullets.

Damn, I accidentally deleted my previous post…
Then once again:
The same thing happens when reporting copyright infringements. In my experience, any case that requires more than 10 seconds of attention will be rejected. I suspect that there are too few and perhaps not sufficiently qualified personnel for this task.
I’ve pretty much given up. When you have blatant violations and it gets rejected or ignored I’m not going to waste my time. When the account has 20+ violations and I report the whole account rather than each violation and it gets ignored or rejected, I’m not going to waste my time. When action is taken the first time around and the account reuploads the same design, I’m not going to waste my time. When I find long time standing accounts posting multiple violations and nothing is done, I’m not wasting my time. The past 6 weeks or so this place has become a joke. Hopefully the new rules coming down the pipeline help.
It makes one wonder, have Bambu severely underestimated how much it would take to a site like that?
I still think they should offer selected trusted community users to have a mod-like role and assist, I’m sure several of ppl would gladly help. it doesn’t have to be the users who ban/remove stuff but give it a priority flag and perhaps hide the user/content until it’s looked at, and then ofc the person who looks at it has to do the job right.
or just hire more ppl to look at it that’s of course another option.
I find the MakerWorld staff are pretty good at responding when reporting stolen models or sketchy users, but I have yet to see a single response to any report on a profile, and I have reported a bunch of profiles. Not a single one has ever been taken down and I haven’t even received so much as a “profile report rejected” message.
Profile reports are thrown straight into the garbage. No one is working them.
I reported it both as a weapon, and also a copyright problem as the model is uploaded under CC BY NC ND but clearly states “all credit goes to bla bla bla” that got the following response “Thank you for your report. A preliminary review of the model you reported has been conducted, and no violations have been found so far.” not only is it a guy they failed to see while responding to the copyright problem they also failed to see the problem with the copyright.
Yeah I noticed the up-tick in actual gun files this past week on here. The one that’s high on the trending page really gave me a chuckle to see it get that far with no action taken. Just goes to show it really is the wild west out here as to what MW will allow to be posted.
I wonder when Education Departments are going to put MakerWorld in their Internet blacklist. Certainly wouldn’t look good for any future Education purchases…
Or maybe they’re ignoring the profile reports because there is a big update on the way that includes an overhaul to the way profiles are managed, and creator’s will finally have the ability to remove unwanted profiles from their models. Or maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part.
So i just seen this reply on my ticket, so if the model is still up, I guess its ok to be there and there by ok for all of us to uploaded stuff that can unalive?
