This is probably a silly question, but here it is.
I printed successfully, a model, and want to print the same model again, The STL file was sent from Studio directly to my P1S printer, not through the cloud. While this model was printing, I deleted the printing model from the “Prepare” portion of Studio, to look at another model of the same type. Now, after trying different support types, I want to go back to the original, successful model, and reprint with a different color and type of filament. How can I do this? I don’t see a “reprint button” in studio, or on the P1S itself.
It should still be on the SD Card.
Just because you removed it from BS, it doesn’t delete the STL from your computer or SD Card.
Well the good news is that the Gcode and 3MF file is still on the SD card. You can retrieve it in one of two ways. The easiest is to plug the card into a computer and copy the files onto your hard drive.
The second and more involved method is to use FTP in LAN only mode and connect to the printer and transfer the files.
However, you can easily go into the print menu on the printer itself and navigate 3 icons down and then look at the SD card folder.
Or you can forget everything I said, and just follow these instructions. How to print from SD card using Bambu Lab P1 Series 3D printer | Bambu Lab Wiki
Oh man, I am such an idiot, of course, it is still on the sd card! I am so used to sending files directly to the printer, I never thought it would store files on the SD card. I checked, and sure enough, files I have previously printed are on the SD card, listed in date and time order.
I gotta get out of this Creality mode, and into the Bambu Wiki mode…
Thanks guys.
The initial FTP setup is a little more involved, but once that is done, I think it is easier and quicker than moving the card. With the X1C at least, FTP transfers can be made at any time in either cloud or LAN-only mode. Just open your FTP client and browse to the .3mf on the card, double-click to open it in your slicer.
For Windows, WinSCP and FileZilla are good free FTP clients. I’ve switched to Mobaxterm (free version) because it also supports RDP and VNC connections for other uses.
That’s the only way I connect to my printer for file transfers. But I defected to WinSCP from FileZilla. The FileZilla developers switched to Asshole-mode about two years ago when they basically disabled the ability to turn off update mode thus forcing folks to endure the constant “There’s an update waiting” message. When someone posted a question how to disable it on their support forum, the effectively shut down any discussion and basically told the user community to pound sand. So much for peace, love and understanding.
