Request: Warning if GCode is for wrong printer when using the SD card

It would be great if the printer warned you if the GCode you are trying to print is sliced for the wrong printer when you are printing from the Micro SD card.

In a school setting with 5 Bambu Lab X1 Carbons, this can become quite a problem as Bambu Studio defaults to the A1 mini or P1P. And for some reason no matter how many times students are told they still forget to set the right printer.

This feature was available on our old Prusa Mk3s and it was very helpful.

It already does when printing from Bambu Studio?

Sorry, I should have clarified; when printing from the Micro SD cards there is no warning message on the printer.

Just to update this thread,

The latest version of Bambu Studio has added this feature.

  1. When initiating a print from the SD card’s Model view, compatibility checks are now performed between the printer and the slicing file. This helps avoid potential issues and ensures smooth printing operations. Sending gcode to a printer doesn't verify if that gcode was sliced for that printer model - you can send invalid gcode · Issue #2991 · bambulab/BambuStudio · GitHub
