Hi! I recently started to learn about 3D printing with a P1P and was thinking about adding a sort of modplate/enclosure on the sides (but not the top) to ensure that my cat doesn’t get too curious and stick something inside.
I read on the official wiki that the MB should be modified with a fan to ensure correct functioning, is this necessary if it’s not completely enclosed?
Only if totally enclosing the P1P
I would actually suggest to get the fan. No matter if you’re enclosing it or not.
The fan is quite cheap and easy to install. And the motor drivers will last longer that way.
Especially on hot summer days it could help with reliability while printing. When steppers get too hot they automatically reduce power to no overheat and that will result in skipping steps.
