If the $40 rewards gave a $40 discount on a product instead of $40 store credit, there would be significantly less tax burden for the voucher redeemer. Similar to the 99% off coupons. This would make the points more valuable - especially for those ordering from the Global store internationally and need to deal with customs.
yes, but that’s a voucher and not a discount. You did something to get these points and you can redeem them for something. Basically Makerworld money like dollars or euros. If you go to work you get money and you can buy a new printer😁
Haha yes, but they already have vouchers as rewards too! For the kit toys.
the embarrassing
yes, that’s right, you’re probably right:joy:
I prefer gift cards because they give me more flexibility. It allows me to get anything from their store, not just filament and printers (like Printables vouchers). It also allows me to use gift cards to cover shipping costs. I think it would be beneficial to offer a few voucher options, but I don’t want to lose gift cards in the process.
The gift cards can be used for shipping? I did not know that, that is great news (shipping a printer to New Zealand is US$300)! However, I can’t use the gift cards to cover import taxes in my case as Bambu isn’t collecting it.
I think everyone will be in favour of more voucher options for more flexibility. 99% off X1C combo coupon please! 17,500 points.
Many customs authorities do not care about whether or not you paid for an item. They will tax you based on the item’s value, which is never considered to be zero in their eyes. For example, if you purchase €40 worth of filament and receive a €40 discount that makes the total amount appear as zero, the item’s value remains unchanged at €40 and you may still be taxed accordingly.
That is true. The transacted amount has high weighting in determining the value but it probably works better if the discount is 20% not 100%.
