Tried to print a cylinder with a round top. Both out of Bambu Lab’s objects.
Print went fine but the round top is segmented. What to do to get a smooth surface?
Learn cad, so you can design properly.
I think you used the sphere primitive in bambu studio to do this, I popped one in one of my projects and can see it has poor resolution. You will want to use a proper CAD program to resolve this.
When you design in a proper CAD program this will be less noticeable (low resolution export) to perfect (high resolution .step file export).
I would generally use primitives as a quick printing test but not for designing. You will however find the shapes useful for applying modifier ‘blocks’ to change the print settings for a specific portion of a model.
Which CAD software did you use?
When creating shapes, some have ways of creating shapes that may not appear obvious at first.
3D models are created using triangles (or faces) in the most basic sense. A sphere is just lots of them to represent a shape. Your model clearly shows them. Often it is a quality setting to increase the count of triangles used, making them small and as a result, the appearance is smoother.
The software should have shown this appearance in the preview.
Thanks for all the responces.Lenyo solved the problem!
