Rugged Box-Creator

Hi!

I am wondering, if there is any Chance, someone can provide a Tool, that creates STL-Files for Rugged Boxes.
I would imagine, to enter the inner width and length, the hight of the box and the hight of the lid and the tool would create an STL for that box.
On Makerworld are different models provided, and still, sometimes you need a special size and that tool would solve the needs.

You can do this easily now outside BL/MW at no cost and without any previous experience.

Download the PERSONAL edition of Fusion 360 for free (possible if you have no intention of making money from using the product).

After downloading the source files including the f3d file (Fusion 360).

Use the Open menu - [Open from my computer], locate the file you downloaded and select it

Once the file is loaded into Fusion 360, press the [Modify] button from the toolbar and then the [Change Parameters] option.

You can change all parameters here, the most common ones are the following:

  • Inner Width
  • Inner Depth
  • Inner Height of bottom part
  • Inner Height of the top part (lid)

Use the Export menu and change the [Location] your files will be saved.

Save the modified version of the f3d file with a new name (specific for this task).

Now export the 3MF file (use the [Type] dropdown). This is the one you use to move it Bambu Studio.

Finally, inside BambuStudio, select the box and split into objects.

You now have the base, the lid, the brackets and the seal.

Look for models with “parametric” in the title. Some are only a collection of various sizes. You want a model that includes the CAD file that actually creates the STL/STEP file. This one has a Fusion file so the dimensions can be modified as necessary. Just enter a different value and the model adjusts.

I see @MalcTheOracle just beat me to it, and provided better details, so I’ll just stop with that one link…

Great minds think alike.

I prefer this one because it was the base for all the toolbox remixes to hold the tools BL provides with each printer.

Nothing wrong with the one you suggested.
