Hello everyone, since I think the function of the X1 with the lidar calibration of the filament is great, I would like this function to save the values for each individual filament permanently.
The current situation is that the values reset to some default value as soon as the printer is switched off. This means that you do not have to recalibrate each time before printing if the filament has already been scanned by the lidar.
It would also be nice if you could load individual filaments, e.g. through the AMS, and thus gradually determine and save the values for them separately. Would be particularly beneficial when printing in multiple colors or use the Textured PEI Plate.
Or is it at least possible to display the calibrated value, to save this manually for each filament?
I would be very happy about this implementation.

I already use the Orca slicer. However, it is still cumbersome to manually determine the flow for each filament if you already have the lidar scanner anyway. In this way you do not use the full potential of the scanner. And that’s why I’m not using it at the moment for multicolor print or if I use the Textured PEI.
The lidar scanner is a dynamic flow compensation calibration like linear advance in marlin or pa calibration in orca slicer.
The absolute flow compensation calibration is a manual setting unless Bambu figures out a way to get this to be100% perfect but you have many variables.
Maybe the Bambu Labs X2 will have more options in the future
But when I manually calibrated the flow for filament (A) and entered the value in the slicer, everything was fine at first.
After that I printed with filament (B) and the flow didn’t fit anymore. Only after re-calibration with the Lidar scanner. So the Lidar also has something to do with the flow and not only with the pressure advance?
I will calibrate every roll and color and nozzle temp for each filament.
So lets say my black pla flow is 0.9875 and pa is 0.026
Same brand and type but now the color is red pla the flow is 1.01 pa is 0.028
You will save a filament setting for every color and type this way as you switch filaments the calibration will be for that filament roll even in the AMS.
I did this too. But there is also the option in the Orca Slicer under “Quality” which means flow ratio upper and lower surface. This applies to the entire project. What should I set there?
This absolutely needs to happen. We can then run a baseline setup for each filament and each color, and even if I have to save this info back to the profile, I’m fine with that. Better if it were automatic, but whatever. Not getting this data back from the printer after it runs the configuration test at the start of each print is needlessly slowing down the print time. We can always run the calibration again if we think something is off, but when printing with multiple colors there is no way for the calibration to be done at the start of the print for each color, so we HAVE to still calibrate manually if we expect to print with multiple colors.
