Greeting, I am wondering how I can save the changes I have made to a print when I have " painted " it in Bambu Studio in case I want to print it again in the future with the same changes I made from the original. When I go back and " open file " to reprint something I have modified the modifications are always gone.
Thank you, P
File < Export < Export generic 3mf
Thank you! I will try that!
You can export the painted model as 3MF file, though that won’t preserve any print settings.
Typically we’d save the whole project file (File → Save or Save As) and open that next time we want to print the same thing. This keeps all print settings as well as the painted model.
One confusing thing is that a .3mf file can be either just a model or a whole slicer project. If opening a 3MF model it ends up being easy to overwrite the same model file with the whole project since Studio doesn’t ask. And vice versa, if one replaces the 3MF model file for some reason (eg. a fresh download or export) then all the project settings will be lost.
HTH,
-Max
EDIT: Apparently in latest Studio versions the “Generic 3MF” export just saves the whole project anyway, same as just File → Save As.
Thank you Max, I will try that next time.
