Scratches on PET-G from Polymaker

Hi, i try printing 1 perimeter cube. If i chose normal mode, i have wraps on surfaces. If i chose Vase moode, print looks good. Same filament, same settings. Any idea? X1C Carbon with AMS. Thanks.

dry your filament, those “pops” are the gases trying escape the nozzle with the filament because its holding moisture, yes it can even happen in brand new fresh out of the bag filament, they use a water bath to cool it down in the manufacturing process, to save time and why they ship with that teenie tiny dessecant pack in the plastic wrapping, dry anything but regular plain PLA.

I think those are seams.

Hi, filament dryed in oven for 9 hours 65 celsius, in vase mode in slicer (same dryiend filament) walls ok.

no, seam aligned to one line in slicer (corner)

Did you rotate the spool or just let it sit in the same position? Unless you stick it in a convection oven I promise that moisture content is still high

It was hot air owen. If moisture, why in Vase mode not?

In vase mode the line thickness changes which reduces the volumetric flow which allows for less pressure and a smoother flow, the air doesn’t need to form because it vents out due to less material. just like if you just turned the speed down to steath mode those blobs would go away, but your print time would increase by double. So most people will just make drying a part of the workflow they use to keep the speeds at normal or faster for productivity
