I’d noticed my printer does this to my plate. It goes thru the calibrating process, and it kept rubbing thru the layer of the plate.
Is this normal?
Yes it is normal. It is cleaning the nozzle before bed leveling.
Hmmm… but i thought that’s what the white roller in the back next to the dump tray was for.
It makes sure there isnt anything on it so it will not throw off the bed leveling.
Yes that is true. But for bed leveling it brings the nozzle temp down to 140 while going back and forth till the filament is solid again. Then it taps the bed with nozzle to check the mesh. Then it will flush the nozzle at print temp and clean off on the ptfe tube. It doesnt roll either, mine is in a fixed position.
That is normal , the white does not completely cleans it. especially if the filament is a btt moist . in the other printers you usually use a small brass brush
The new plates does not have material there so it is only metal in that area and not so confusing
That was my first support ticket . Hope the hardened nozzle is stronger than the plate in long run
But for just over 400h printing still on the first nozzle so must be ok
Over 1500 hours same nozzle. Maybe i need to change it tho.
