I have a bad reacting touchscreen, to select an item i have to press above the item i want to select, which at sometimes becomes unusable, if the only selectable item is on the top of the screen; is there a calibration procedure?
Did you find a solution? Received my A1 mini yesterday and have the same issu
Nope, my actual touch position is still a little above the screen position. But i stopped using the screen after i got the panda toch screen…
I have had an A1 mini since launch and I’ve experienced the exact same ‘problem’.
Coming from an electronics background, I have a different perspective on the ‘problem’.
The observant of you will notice the quotes on the word ‘problem’ each time I use it.
Some smaller displays have a known problem with inaccurate hit points when the screen it not at a 90° angle to the observer and the instrument of touch, in this case the finger. This can also be affected more when the screen is typically portrait from the factory and used in landscape in use.
Given all those factors are in-play here, I put it down to that rather than a real problem, essentially, live with it rather than hope for a fix.
Too many report the same issue with no obvious calibration feature, at least one I have found, which arguably, I haven’t spent too much time searching as I’m in the “live with it camp”.
In short, the issues that can increase the likelihood of this problem.
- Physically small screen
- Designed to be portrait, used as landscape
- Angle of observer not at 90° to the display
- Angle of instrument of touch not at 90° to the display
I would like a means to adjust for the issue because it could be mitigated in firmware, I just doubt it’s on the BL to do list or if it is, high up on the list.
How are you finding it?
I have been considering it for the P1S I’m getting to replace my A1 with it being recalled and will still have my A1 mini.
Do you mount it to your A1 mini or use it standalone?
Best upgrade i made, i use it on the p1s, and sometimes i take it of for using on the a1mini.
I have also the same issue. It does not look like it is a “not 90 degrees” problem but more like a bad touchscreen sensor? On the bottom half of the screen the reaction is good, the upper you go, the more unusable it becomes. It is impossible to click on an icon which is on the very top left. Entering the WLAN password was a real pain. No solution, anybody?
Same problem here. Running a touch calibration sure would be welcome.
