SD Card, do I put the .3mf files in the root of my SD card?

Yo mates,
I popped out the SD card from my X1 and put in my PC/SD adapter,
should I copy my .3mf files to the root of the card?
Or do I put them in any of the folder trees directories?

SD CARD;
cache (Folder)
ipcam (Folder)
timelapse (Folder)
FSCK0000.REC (in root directory)

Hmm if not in the above, is it O.K. to create a folder named .3mf or something to organize and copy my printfiles too?

I would be very greatful for you feedback mates,

I usually custom folder for the prints.

I’m one of those guys with a folder for everything. So, you’ll find my 3DP folder that has a folder for each and every model I own, each folder may have sub folders (EG: Assembly Instructions even if just one pdf will have it owns folder, photos of the complete model in another folder etc… OCD)

I usually make a folder on the card called “Print Ready” and I just drag print file to that folder.

Personally I would put files in the root folders. I have no logical reason other than it could cause me to accidently delete the wrong file or something stupid like that.

With my X1, I send everything through the cloud so I have yet to use the card… Well, I use it for time laps.

thank you Anthony,

I created a folder named “.3mf print files”
and copied my .3mf print ready files in to the fore mentioned directory.
However my X1 cant find the folder/the folder content?!?

Aigh I’ll try renaming it to something shorter “3mf” and put the files both in there and also in the root to see if they become visible somehow…

Did you format the card in the printer first?

I wonder why it’s not seeing the folder.

Yes I formatted in the X1C,

Hmm I wonder if it takes like a really looooong time to read the card or something?
I was recommended a better quality/high speed SanDisc Gold 512gb SDXC card, mebbe the size slows it down or something?

Seems to record the timelapses spot on so it definitely sees and accesses the sd card
Lemme pop it in and wait 20 mins and see if anything pops up in the folders on the X1c display, hmmmm

Thanks again for helping out mate!

Oh… suddenly I have 3 sets of each printfiles (triplicates? sry bad english)
I do not think the X1 loved the folder named with “.” in the start

Otherwise the files are there, trying to print a cad I fumbled together meself.

Hmm so far I used Bambu Studio from my PC 100% of the printjobs so far…
You seem pretty knowledgeable Anthony, do you happen to know if there is an option to go “Sport” mode on the printer display?

Oh, yeah the “.” Is not a good name lol take that out and you should be ok. Usually the “.” Is what identifies the start of a file format EG: .exe, .3mf, .jpeg, .bmp etc…

Bambu runs Android (IDK if on the printer itself, or only on the display). But if you have a “.” in front of a folder, that the system will hide the folder for the user

As u can see. Normally “.localcache” is hidden for the user - because of the dot in front

Did you figure out why you had 3 sets of print files. Used my SD card for the first time yesterday after receiving my printer and I realized that I had 2 sets of print files, though on my PC I only see one copy of my .3mf that I put onto the card.
