SD Card Slot Issue

I noticed my printer behaving strange over the last week - many prints suddenly stopped, I had to send files over and over because of parsing errors. I eventually tried saving directly to SD and discovered my SD card slot isn’t functional. It won’t hold the card anymore and I’m guessing it was causing my fails. Is there any workaround? I can’t print at all without a card. If I hold the card in, the printer reads it but the second I let go, it comes back out.

contact the support for your issue, for the mean time stick it inside using tape and a pice match to hold it in place

Im having the same issue, did they ever warranty it?

I have the same issue on my brand new X1C. Looks like they haven’t fixed it yet

My issue was eventually fixed. They sent me a new board and we’re all good now. I’ve only had this happen on one printer so far. Open a ticket.

I looked at the wiki article on sd card and realized I had been putting it in UPSIDE DOWN :upside_down_face: I really hate these tiny cards. Thanks for your reply and I’m glad you got yours fixed.

It’s also spring loaded. If you don’t push it in until it locks, it springs back out. I’ve had mine fly across the room because my fingernail slid off the card.

I don’t remove it much, printing in lan mode. I can ftp into it, too, if needed, using winscp. On my old ender, I bought an adapter from micro to standard size sd, one with a short lead, and stuck it down with double sided tape. Standard size sd’s are more robust, easier to find if dropped on floor, and if the contacts get damaged, just a cheap adapter to change.

Thank you for this. I had forgotten about adapter cables. This should be posted in the Wiki page so all users can find it. It saves a lot of frustration handling those very tiny micro cards.

I am having the issue that the printer can’t parse the file on the micro card. I just tried a different card and the printer said it didn’t find any printable files on it. The file does show up on the computer. I don’t know if I am somehow creating a defective file now because i think I am using the same process that I did with previous success

continuing. The file does show up on the card when I insert it in the computer so the file is there
