I had a strange problem with an SD card that had previously worked correctly. At one point I couldn’t see the contents of the card from Bambu Studio. Printing directly from Bambu Sudio worked correctly, and when I printed with Timeplapse enabled, everything was fine. Sending (without printing) also worked. I only couldn’t see the contents of the card from Bambu Studio.
However, everything was fine from the printer side, I could read all contents of the card without any problems.
After removing and formatting the card, I no longer have any problems, but I previously checked the Network Test option in Bambu Studio and both when the problem occurred and now that it is gone, I have errors in the test at two points.
I find these tests rather unreliable.
They always fail if there is the slightest hickup in the network…
As long as all works from the printer and Studio I would not worry.
But if you want to format SD cards properly download the tool from Scard.org - these guys define the standards and Windows just isn’t well suited for SD cards…
I also encountered this problem. When I clicked to download the video during printing, I found that there was no file in the file list. The page prompted “Check whether the storage device is inserted into the printer” and asked to format it.
Since formatting SD Card it was ok for me until this weekend, when the problem reappeared and after 2 days it’s gone by itself. While the problem exist i found out that only Bambu Studio has problem with accessing the SD Card - nor Printer itself or even Bambu Handy App hadn’t this problem. Actually everything works fine, i just couldn’t see the files from Bambu Studio or start Timelapse recording.
I can’t reproduce this probelm, what’s more this day probelm solved by itself. In the meanwhile i’ve created a support ticket, but today i’ve received an answer that “It is a problem of the SD card itself. Please use a new card , formated in FAT32 on a computer”.
Since i don’t have any spare SD card so i bought today a new one (32GB) and we’ll see what happens next.
I still don’t understand what support says, i mean how it could be a SD card probelm, when BL Handy, the printer itself, and the computer can read files on SD card without any problem, just BL Studio has a problem … but ok, i’m gonna try it with new SD card.
In my case it wasn’t so simple, i could turn the printer off and on, reinsert the SD card with unmount it first, and nothig helped. The best result i’ve gained by reformating it or just do nothing
Probably a sign the SD card is getting ready to fail. SD cards degrade over time from read/write actions. Mine started acting weird then completely failed. I bought a new one and it was fine. I had noticed it took longer for the printer to “boot-up” when I turned it ON before it failed. Now, it is ready to go in just a couple of seconds. Make sure to get a high quality (class 10, U3, V30 rated) card.
