SD Card Write Exception A1

Getting this error on one of my A1s, tried a new SD card and the same thing is happening so trying to downgrade the firmware to see if that helps.

Anyone else?

Have you tried the problematic SD cards in one of the A1s that hasn’t exhibited a problem up until now? There are a lot of counterfeit memory cards on the market. If you bought them all at the same time, they could all be bad in the same way…

Did you check that the little switch on the side isn’t on ā€œLockā€.

Micro SD card’s don’t have the tab to ā€œlockā€ that I know of…

I haven’t tried the card in my other A1s, main reason is they are all busy! - However after downgrading the firmware, it seems to have solved the problem!

Still, seems likely there’s something wrong with those cards. Your other A1s didn’t need their FW downgraded to access there SDs, did they?

They didn’t, but weirdly this error kept on coming up halfway through a print, so not sure if a sector of the card is faulty, but the firmware downgrade seemed to fix it. I have downgraded my others just in case, they run through the night.

Try to back up it onto your PC and then see if you can format it in the printer.

I had a read error midprint on my A1 so youre not the only one.
Didnt do anything to it, as i just started to print again and it worked flawlessly. But last night i had another instance of it just freezing on the print 80% done. Raised a ticket. Lets see how that goes.

I am having the same issue with a brand new A1. Could not get a finished print up to now. I formatted the SD card using the printer. No effect. The print job is abborted with the message ā€˜Micro SD card read/write exceptionā€. When I select resume printing the new layer doesn’t stick to the print with ā€˜spagetti’ as a result. Did you received a reply on your ticket. I would appreciate if you could share.

Same problem here with a A1 Mini. I cant use any SD card (tryed 4 different cards). Seems like latest version of software broke something.

Proof of the error…sending print from bambu studio

I bought a brand new Sandisk Extreme 32GB micro SD card. I formatted the card with the format function of the printer. All problems are solved. 7 prints since then and no issues at all.

I just put in a ticket. Three SD Cards & no change, looks like the board.
Locked up 7 hours into a 14 hour print.

Good luck with that, they told me to monitor the situation

Got another email last nght.
They think it’s the board (I already kinda knew that)
But since my Mini is out of warranty, they want me to buy it.
I’m trying to get it replaced for free.
Either way my printer is down, I have no choice.

Board has be ordered.
I’ll post back when it’s installed.

New board is installed & all is working fine, so far.

Same here also i cannot access my print files. Also my sd card is legit i used it for other stuff before and i even formated it a few times and it did not work

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share that I also purchased a Bambulab A1 3D printer, which has a printing time of 110 hours. Since the last firmware update, the printer keeps stopping due to a memory card error. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The memory card that comes standard with the printer is from a very poor quality. I had the same problem and a lot of other issues such as stopping in the middle of a print, sometimes the printer went crazy and slammed into the mechanical limits. I have replaced the card with a brand new Sandisk Extreme. All problems are solved.
