I’ve found myself in the same boat with you all but I think I’ve found a paddle so to speak (work around).
My current Generic ABS is running low and decided to print some parts with BB ASA, Having loaded the ASA it took me a bit to work out the logic of how to select either one of the filaments.
This is how I’m doing it but if there’s a proper way to do it, I’m all ears and eyes…
My AMS is loaded with the 2 filaments all calibrated. I want 1 and 4, 2 and 3 are just to fool the AMS
Next I now want to print with (Generic ABS) but as long as the Slots are not filled with the same filament type, we’ll get an error message telling you that all the filament must be the same type.
Go back to the (Prepare Window) and tell the AMS that all the Slots are the same Filament, in my case I’ve populated the slots with the Generic ABS.
Next go to Devices select the Filament you want…
This will Pop up…Confirm your choice and it’s associated information.
Print Plate will now proceed without the (warning)…
Or
Now I’m able to jump from and to any slot at will as long as the Slots are all fooled to the same Filament…
The above works as long as you’re not about to run out of filament which would then cause the AMS to jump to a backup Slot, in my example it’d load Slot 4 which is ASA.
This is my work around devised this morning as I needed to have these 2 filaments readily available for parts printing.
It goes without saying that I’m open to any other methods out there as I’ m very new to BB Studio and learning.
