Self detachable chain guide

During the initial phase of printing (bed calibration), the chain guide detaches - it hits the right part of the printer and detaches in random places. The problem occurred after calibrating the printer with new software. Have any of you had such a problem? It looks as if the printer was moving too far in the X axis

which firmware version are you referring to? can you revert to the previous version and see if the problem still persists or once you downgrade to the previous firmware version the problem is solved?

The newest one: 1.08. After the update, it asked to recalibrate the device. I clicked (no) because I had prints to make. Everything was ok.
After printing, I calibrated it and now every time during initialization it hits the side, unfastening the guide. Once I finish printing, I will try to see if I can fix this problem by downgrading

Try Restoring factory settings first (and recalibrating). Seems to fix a lot of weird behavior after a firmware update.

This is what it looks like.

The problem occurs when the x-axis is on the right and the head moves from the lower right corner to the upper right corner of the table.

The guide cannot curl in the other direction. Because of this, it comes loose at the head and pulls the cable…

have you tried the wiki ?
and just a thought the clip on the ptfe tube ? is it preventing the chains natural motion ? with its placement and is the tube to big?

I think this a purely mechanical issue, I don’t see how firmware would affect the motion of the guide.

I would check each link to make sure it can flex easily. I’ve had one or two of the pins come out of their sockets and they did not pivot properly. With the toolhead hitting the stops in that back corner, there should be more curl in the first 6 or 8 links from the toolhead.

It looks to me that one of the two clips that hold the ptfe tube close to the drag chain is missing. My drag chain has two of them.

Maybe thats why the tube is jumping over the top of the printer. :man_shrugging:

It happened after calibration, that’s why I thought so. Your hunch was correct, the guide pins didn’t want to rotate. After the first disassembly, I reassembled the guides incorrectly. The question is, why did it happen the first time?
