Send Print doesn't work - SSL connection timeout - Error Code -5010

Trying to queue up the next file while my X1C prints.
I’ll get the troubleshoot the network connection window. I test, with the correct IP and access code and get a successful test.
I click send and it gets to 30%, saying sending gcode over LAN. Then errors out.

connection timeout

It happened to me twice with 3mf files downloaded from makerworld, certainly due to buggy files. I printed multiple files with no issue until I decided to retry those files, same issue.

Just tried a STL from Thingiverse.
No change, still broken.
I’ve tried logging out of the printer and power cycling, as well as logging out of Bambu Studio.

Try using the LAN Only mode. That disconnects the printer from the Bambu cloud nonsense. The iOS app won’t work any more, nor will time lapse, but the connection between BambuStudio and the printer will be direct.

Same issue here. Can no longer send prints, FTP timeout error 5010. Quite annoying.

I just started having the same issue. Both on uploading a file or printing. The upload will complete on the printer and I can start from card.

I only have issues on my windows laptop. The Mac laptop works just fine. So has to be windows setting. Still looking.

A couple of nights ago Bambu services were down so I had to switch to LAN mode and I experienced the same issue.

I upgraded to latest firmware last week so not sure if it is related.

I keep getting a failed message at 99% transferred but the file is on the printer and works fine.

Strange…

Turn of your windows firewall and try again. Restart bambu studio first.
If it works now, check that your settings, that its private network and bambu is allowed thru the firewall in private network also.
Also check for duplicate of bambu in the firewall. Delete one if two.

This solved it for me.
Win 11.

I had this happen a couple of times - I found it happening when I have multiple instances of Bambu Slicer running. When I only run one instance of Bambu Slicer, it works fine (so far). Hope this helps.

Try to reduce the file name, it helped me

I have the same issue. After pressing the “send” button, the progress bar works until 99% and then stops, showing the same error report mentioned here. The file is transferred because the Device page works well, but I don’t know if the file transfer was corrupted or not.

I’ve tried all the suggestions mentioned here, but none of them worked for me on Windows 11:

  1. Using a short file name – didn’t work.
  2. Adding Bambu Studio exe permissions in the Firewall – didn’t work.
  3. Ensuring only one instance of Bambu Studio is running – didn’t work.
  4. Verifying only one Bambu Studio exe is listed in the Firewall – didn’t work.
  5. Restarting everything (including the printer) – didn’t work.
  6. Attempting to transfer via FTP, but I couldn’t establish a connection.
    FTP IP:990
    user: bblp
Pass: AccessCode displayed on the printer screen
Encription: Require implicit FTP over TLS

The IP ping is OK and fast.
The 3MF model is a personal design with simple geometric shapes.

If anyone knows how to resolve this issue, I’d be very grateful.

This is also an issue for me on X1C running slicer on Windows 11 laptop. It seems to sometimes work, sometimes not, it might be something to do with the file name?? but turning off firewall lets me send files instantaneously. For obvious reasons we cannot leave firewall off though… Could someone @BambuLabs take a look into this?? It seems that I’ve tried everything I could ever try in the last 2 days attempting to fix this issue, down to reinstalling windows.

Logged in specially to say thank you for nudging the obvious :raised_hands:
For me this was not firmware or Orca version related.

THIS WAS A FIREWALL ISSUE
My Win11 firewall had somehow ended up as ‘block’ for Orca and public networks. My home Wifi had also somehow also found its way to being set as a ‘Public’ rather than ‘Private’ network.

User error? Windows updates sabotage? Who knows.

FTP timeout errors (Orcaslicer unable to upload prints) had been bugging me for several months and were driving me crazy - especially when I could run a WinSCP session with my machine no issue. Phew

This is, as far as I can tell, an inconsistent, persistent issue, that BL seems to have zero interest in resolving, and in some email exchanges I had with support, they frankly got pretty insulting in their denials that this is even an existing issue, despite plenty of other users echoing the complaints on various platforms.

I’ve tried a wide variety of fixes suggested by BL, users here, on Reddit, and Facebook groups. It just doesn’t work sometimes, and there is seemingly no rhyme or reason.

For a company that’s fully embracing the “it just works” philosophy, it sure doesn’t

I have been dealing with this issue for over a month now. Ive tried all the suggestions. It will literally work fine and then 3 minutes later when sending another file it will fail at 99%. I do not understand why this is happening now. I’m waiting on a new sd card to see if that is part of the problem. This is a problem that needs to be addressed.

The pattern seems to be as follows. If I send a print after starting bambu studio, it works. If I open a different project and save the current one then slice and send, it fails. If I restart studio with the same file it works. If it fails and I turn off firewall, it fails, when I turn firewall back on it works. But again if opening another project without restarting studio it fails. I can consistently repeat this.

Hi @ZionXIX

Welcome to the forum.

To all: I’ve also had similar issues once in a while. In my case, the solution was simple as soon I understood that using TailScale on the computer (and not possible at the printer) generated conflicts.

Also, as one mentioned, check the firewall (not only Windows → e.g. router) for any blocked connection.

Note that your network settings at the ISP, Windows, Router or user levels may affect connectivity. For example, using Privacy focus VPNs (as in my case) and the fact that the printer connects to the 2.4Ghz network and the computer typically to the 5Ghz
Note: the latter shouldn’t be an issue, but it depends on your settings.

The best way to find the cause is to turn off all custom network settings, connect both printer and PC to the same network, rebind, and reenable your custom settings individually.
