Set up bambu studio on computer without access to printer

Hi, the computer I do all my work on is not located near our P1S printer. I want to use Bambu Studio on that computer to slice my prints, then take the g-code to the printer on an sd card. The problem is that Studio does not allow me to specify my printer. It seems that I must have my computer present with the printer on the same wifi to allow me to set my printer in the software. More specifically, I have a P1S with an AMS and I can’t enter the AMS information in the slicer. The “device” tab at the top is not active, so I can’t manually add it there. There is an option to “synchronize filament list from AMS” which of course I cannot do without connecting. Added information: I work in a College setting, and peer to peer wifi is blocked. We had to use a mobile phone hotspot to get the one computer in the lab working with it. But I don’t want to have to go through that process for every staff and student that wants to make prints. Thus my request for how to set up the software without binding & connecting to each computer.

thanks for your help.

Hi. Anyone have a solution for this?

I believe you select the printer under the print settings. Shouldn’t have anything to do with the “device” tab, as that is how you connect to the printer via wifi, either with inter net or LAN.

Under print setting the option for the printer should be at the top on the left. Then export the gcode file to transfer to the SD card.

If that doesn’t work use Orca Slicer.

thank you for that… I can and do select the P1S in the slicer and export my gcode and do my prints. The thing that I can’t do is specify the AMS. when I try to tell it about the AMS, I am prompted to go to the “device” tab. My AMS is currently a paper weight :frowning:
