Setting Brim gap to 0.0 still leaves a small gap

In an effort to deal with object lifting up from the platform I’m applying a 5mm brim to the object. I tried the brim with a small gap but the object still detaches from the platform and from the brim. Setting brim gap to 0.0 didn’t solve the problem as the object still detached and the brim still had a small gap from the object.

Any ideas how to fix this other than adding the brim to the object itself?
