Just a small tip in case you want to improve the surface finish of your prints (the top layer).
1Âş Calibrate the flow with a test in Orca Slicer (it is an almost automatic test).
2Âş Calibrate also the temperature for a uniform gloss.
3Âş Use the top fill with Monotonic pattern (for smooth surfaces without marks) or with Hilbert Curve pattern (for surfaces with very nice geometric finish).
4º And finally, don’t be in a hurry, the top layer can be printed at 60-80mm/s to improve the finish and gloss.
Good luck!
Edit: I just noticed it’s not your design hahaha, anyway I leave the comment in case it’s useful for someone.
forgive my ignorance, why calibrate the flow in orca slicer, and not in bamblu slicer? And do you mean Flow Dynamics or Flow Rate (or both?) @Eleazar_3DinPlastic
I’m playing with it now as well, looks really interesting!
the formatting of the images is very tricky however, it failed to accept the more complex ones I used in the litho I posted. In testing it likes muted backgrounds and more “cartoon” styling it seems.
Great ideas often start from a very inelegant prototype. MakerLab Experiments is where we invite our enthusiastic users to play around with the immature prototypes and witness the long journey from a brainstormed idea to a polished product.
Try getting in touch with mw support if you are having issues
I am getting better at using Shadowbox maker but have an issue where one layer has a very small connection to the frame. I think it is likely to break.
Is there a way to add connections manually or add material to make the small connection larger?
I have gone through the tutorial a few times successfully but still have some confusion on what assembling and connections are or do.
I think I could use a few definitions and clarifications. For example:
“Ensure the first layer is assemblable, and then add areas to each subsequent layer based on the previous layer and ensure assemblability.”
Is the first layer the one in front or back?
What does assemblable mean?
What is a connector?
If I select a section in the image, does it have to have a connection to the areas around it or can it be free floating?
I have had partial success with a shadowbox but one issue that I have is one of my layers has a very small connection to the frame and could easily break.
I have the same issue with the shadowbox get to 3 of 5 and nothing happens. I’ve tried multiple browsers i could try a different laptop, but it has lower specs than what I’m using.
