Shadows on print of earlier prints

Hi all,

I have one question: Has anybody a tipp how to get rid of these shadows on prints? I hate them and cannot replace my plates so often.

Here I used the bambu textured PEI plate but also have these problems in other plates like the cold plate and Smooth PEI. I already tried soap and also isopropanol. Nothings works against These shadows.

The shadow on the picture is from after cooling down about 2 hours.

Have you tried a stiff bristled brush or brass brush? Seems to work for me when I have this.

Left over glue from plate…??

Already tried this without success. I also tried fine wet sandpaper on the smooth plate. Now the plate looks very scratchy and the shadows are still there :frowning:

No, I never used glue on these plates.

IPA might not be strong enough to tackle a stubborn filament residue. Might need to kick it up a notch with some acetone or even MEK - though they can also be aggressive to the print surface. Wham Bam recommends acetone for a deep clean of their PEX surface FWIW…

A heat gun should work for that. Just be careful not to get the part too hot or it will warp.

Blast it with the heat gun, then give it time to cool before blasting it again. If you don’t wait, the heat will build up more with each blast and the part will warp.

Some people use a flame torch, but the heat gun works well. I set the heat and blowing strength pretty high because I want to heat up the surface quickly so I can pull it away before the heat spreads too far in the plastic.

Acetone can’t be used on any of the Bambu plates

I tried the heat gun and it worked perfect.
It would be better if the shadows are not there, but this is a good workaround.
